HONEY: A HEALER OF MANKIND.

And thy Lord taught the bee to build it's cells in hills, on trees, and in Men's habitation.
Then to eat of all the produce of the earth, and follow the ways of they Lord made smooth:There issues from within their bodies a drink of varying colours, where in is a healing for Men.Verily in this is a sign for those who give thought.

There is a natural healing power in honey that is of great benefit to man.The curative properties of honey are documented in world's oldest medical literature.The sumerians and the Egyptian physicians used honey to treat internal and external wounds, ulcers, diseases of the eyes, lungs, skin and in particular diseases of the stomach and intestines.

The Chinese, the Indians, the Greeks and the Romans also recorded similar practices in their traditions. Hippocrates, the father of moden medicine, used honey to treat a number of diseases. The great Muslim physician,Ibn Sina wrote dozens of prescription containing honey in his world famous medical text-book "The canon of medicine".
Today, honey is in higher demand in many hospitals. It has been found that honey has antibacterial activity in the body. And for having antiseptic properties, no germ, fungi or bacteria can thrive in it. Many doctors pick honey as an effective substance for healing surgical wounds and bed sours. Pharmaceutical companies use honey to produce cough syrups. It has also been discovered in research that children who take honey regularly have been observed to have high intellects. The composition of honey is very complex containing a variety of biochemical compounds including vitamins, amino acids, enzymes, hormones e.t.c.
